A cycle of three pieces of passionate style. This one is the first piece “Aime-moi”. A rather virtuosic composition abundant in repetitive chords, triplet figurations, arpeggio and tremolo. The music conveys excitement and thrill of the heart. Charles-Valentine Alkan, the author of the work was a contemporary of Chopin and Liszt. His talent, as in many cases with composers of genius, manifested itself pretty early: he enrolled in Paris Conservatory at age 6, and at age 12 had his concert debut. He was a virtuoso player on the pedal piano.
