„Shake It Off“ ist ein von der amerikanischen Sängerin Taylor Swift und den schwedischen Songwritern Max Martin und Shellback geschriebenes Pop-Lied. Dabei weicht die Künstlerin von ihrem typischen Country-Pop-Musikstil ab. Der Song wurde 2014 als erste Single aus Taylors 5. Studienalbum „1989“ veröffentlicht, toppte gleich die Billboard Hot 100 und wurde zu ihrem Nummer-Eins-Hit. Der Song wurde von vielen Kritikern bejubelt, zum „beliebtesten Song“ bei den People’s Choice Awards gewählt und dreimal für den Grammy nominiert.

Apart from the apparently catchy mood, I should note that Shake It Off is one of the best compositions for arranging and improvising. Its beat and melody leave a lot of room for experiments and sometimes very curious remakes may appear, even on solo piano. Add some synthesizer to that or even something as exotic as marimbas, and you got a new mini-hit. I've already heard a couple of gorgeous covers, so I thought it's about time for me to bring up my own :)

This song is pure fun! And that's what it was meant to be! Maybe I am not the biggest fan of Taylor but I respect that in this girl - she can openly laugh at what critics say. And yeah, haters gonna hate anyway!
