Sungji Hong is an internationally acknowledged composer born in South Korea. Her music compositions – for solo instruments, ensembles and full orchestra – have been performed in over 40 countries in Europe, North America and Asia. Sungji began to play piano at the age of 5 and completed a PhD and MMus in composition in the UK - at the University of York and the Royal Academy of Music in London, relatively. She is a multi-prize winner at a big number of international music competitions. Sungji Hong also composes ballets, choral and electroacoustic pieces. Her music works are broadcasted in 17 countries and can often be heard at international music festivals. The composer’s classical album “Stella Maris” performed by Trio Mediaeval made it to the top 10 in the Billboard Classical Chart & iTunes Classics.
