Brass/French horn Sheet Music

The royal hunt with Court's prominent figures racing on beautifully equipped horses to the dogs' excited barking – this is the original premises for hearing the great French horn, the hunting instrument that turned into a brass section part and a woodwind quintet element. If we were to imagine French horn as a choir, it would easily cover alto, tenor and baritone, which makes it quite versatile in the instrument family. In the very beginning horn playing was narrowly-specialized, so that there were those who played it only high or only low. Some made their own horns – for example, Wagner tuba, Richard Wagner's invention for his “The Ring of the Nibelung” operas’ set. Today due to the special velvety sound French horn (left-handed, by the way) is mostly used in symphonic orchestras, wind choirs and marching bands.
