“Brothers in Arms” is a blues/soft/roots rock song by the popular British rock band formed by Mark Knopfler – Dire Straits. It is the title track of the band’s 5th album released in 1985. The song was written by Knopfler in 1982 and co-produced by Neil Dorfsman. There have been recorded 3 studio versions of the song, each different in length and structure, the original album version is composed in G# Minor and lasts 6:58. Written at the time of The Falklands Conflict, the song’s subject matter is the war. In 2007, the single was re-released in order to raise funds for the veterans of that conflict and commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragic event. Some of the cover versions of “Brothers in Arms” include those by Joan Baez, Galija, Metallica, Northern Kings, Club for Five and others.

Knopfler's guitar mastery together with his amazing songcraftship is something to really look up to for every aspiring guitar player! The lyrics of Brother in Arms, in fact, doesn't provide any exact references to the Falklands War so I'm grateful for this clarification. I learnt to read guitar sheet music only a few month ago so I've been fighting with this score for a week already - the first results appear:) thank you for the nicely-made sheets and the tabs provided!
