Die Triosonaten BWV 525 - 530 sind 1727 bis 1732 entstanden. Dem Bachbiographen Johann Nikolaus Forkel zufolge hat Bach sie als Unterrichtsmaterial für seinen ältesten Sohn Wilhelm Friedemann Bach geschrieben.
Innerhalb des Gesamtschaffens für Orgel gebührt den Triosonaten eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit, denn das besondere an diesen Kompositionen ist, dass die Orgel kammermusikalisch klingt. Mit den Möglichkeiten der vielen Klangfarben, die das Instrument besitzt, kann so eine Person drei Musiker gleichzeitig spielen.
Die Triosonate steht original in Es-Dur. Diese Bearbeitung für drei Querflöten ist nach G-Dur transponiert.
