This work opens with a pretty haunting little melody which is complemented by the brass then the strings which then goes into a fairly resolute section reminiscent of a church service. This is followed by a dramatic outburst by the orchestra which expresses the act of a burial. It then ends very calmly getting softer and softer.
This work was performed by a University Orchestra in 1992.
