This is No.2 of 4 orchestral songs with words by the French poetess, Amalthée. Difficult to describe the poem, but it is very reflective in nature. A woman perhaps comparing her life to the vast emptiness of the desert. It's a very beautiful poem, but as with many poems, difficult to translate literally!
