“Because He Lives, Amen” is one of today’s most popular worship songs. It was co-written by the Canadian contemporary Christian songwriter and worship leader Matt Maher together with Chris Tomlin, Ed Cash, Daniel Carson, Jason David Ingram and Gloria Gaither. It was released in 2015 as part of Maher’s 4th album titled “Saint and Sinners”. A deeply moving Christian composition, this song is the second most popular composition by Maher after his music hit anthem “Lord I Need You”. Matt Maher is convinced that everything people do happens due to Christ’s resurrection and that is what we should keep praising God for. “Because He Lives, Amen” brought its author a Dove Award for the Worship Song of the Year. It also became the first piece in the list of Top 20 Songs by Worship Leader in 2015. These awards were not the first for Matt Maher. He was also named the Songwriter of 2015 with 3 albums to reach Billboard’s Top 25 Christian Albums and 4 singles to top the Christian Songs charts. The most widely-performed worship singles by Maher are “Turn Around”, “Your Grace Is Enough”, “Hold Us Together”, “All the People Said Amen” and more. Choir leaders will find joy in performing this wonderful praise music.

This arrangement is a lite different from the recorded version, at least the one we normally heard on the radio, but we enjoyed playing it a lot. Normally our choir sang another song by Maher - Lord I need You but playing Because He Lives for the first time was a hit instantly. My task is to get the piece adapted to the chords our vocalist picks to make her voice project smoothly and the entire thing to sound accurately. It was easy to work with this sheet music considering this fact.
