A brand new arrangement of Personent Hodie, a much neglected and unusual Carol in my estimation. This arrangement is for Bassoon quintet (4 bassons and contra) and has three verses. The first verse is a plain arrangement with the original harmonies, the 2nd verse treats the melody as a round, with a 'bell effect' in the 1st bassoon and finally the third verse returns to the original harmony, but with an added ostinato in the contra and a 'peal of bells' in the final chorus.
This would make a valuable contribution to any Christmas/Holiday programme for its novelty value alone.
