La Pastorela for Children: Script and Songs was a musical written for the students of Garcia School in Alice, Texas back in December of 2001. La Pastorela is a Mexican Christmas folk play about the angels announcing the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. The are lazy and gullable shepherds are instructed to go to Bethlehem to see the Baby Jesus. Along the way they meet three devils who try to convince the shepherds not to go. The shepherds are rescued from temptation by Miguel the archangel and heaven's angels. The songs are from Mexico and Spain.

La Pastorela for Children: Script and Orff Ensemble Score is a Mexican Christmas folk play about the angels announcing the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. Miguel the archangel tells the shepherds to head to Bethlehem to see the Baby Jesus. Along the way the shepherds encounter three devils who tempt them not to go. The shepherds are saved by Miguel and the angels. The shepherds reach Bethlehem and celebrate! The Orff score is for soprano voices, recorder, glockenspiels, xylophones, metallophones, ukulele, guitar, bongos, congas, tambourine, maracas guiro and claves.
