This version of "In Memoriam" is written in C-la (C Minor) for Organ without Pedal, so that it can be played on a harmonium, piano, or any other keyboard instrument. (Opus 15a is the version for Organ with Pedal.)
"In Memoriam" consists of a Chorale (music and lyrics by the composer) with Variations, concluding with a Prelude and Fugue. It is a brilliant, symphonic work for organ, very emotional of character.
By lack of blank music sheets the composer wrote the chorale on a paper plate on the plane back from the Netherlands after the funeral of his mother in December 2000. Later he used it as the foundation for his composition "In Memoriam".
