Poem by an unknown Kurdish poet going by the pseudonym of Iskan Acicka - this version for piano and alto is one of many settings I have made for the poem.
The recording is from the CD Songs of Solomons and was performed by Stephen Taylor (countertenor) and Jonathan Leonard (piano), who have given permission for use of their performance. The CD itself is available in the form of mp3 downloads at CDBaby, Amazon, Napster and other reputable download places.

This version of my setting of Rose (poem by an unknown Kurdish poet going under the pseudonym Iskan Acicka) is for alto or baritone with string orchestra.
The zip file contains score and parts.
The sound sample is - I'm afraid - an electronic preview with the vocal part represented by an oboe sound

This version of Rose (poem by "Iskan Acikca") is for tenor and piano, but it can also be sung by a soprano.
The zip file contains a setting in D minor and one in E minor. The recording (in E minor), by David Barclay, tenor, with Martin Godden on piano was recorded in the crypt of LIverpool Metropolitan Cathedral!
(It can be sung a bit slower than this.... according to taste....)

This version of Rose (poem by "Iskan Acikca") is for tenor and strings, although it could also be sung by a soprano.
The sound sample is from a concert in 2000, the microphone was not well placed but it gives some idea of the setting. The soloist was David Barclay, who also sang the version for tenor and piano, which is also available here.

The zip file contains score and parts.
