The "bergamasca" was a lusty 16th-century dance depicting the allegedly awkward manners of the inhabitants of Bergamo, in northern Italy, where the dance supposedly originated. These variations are an arrangement of my original cello and guitar version, which was based on one of the original bergamasca tunes.
