Korobeiniki, the Russian folk song, was used as the main theme music for the Tetris video game. This arrangement for marching band begins with a traditional statement of the theme, then moves into a percussion feature, and ends with a catchy 12/8 swing statement of the theme. A baritone treble clef part is included. NOTE: The score is in 8.5in x 14in LEGAL format and must be printed out on that type of paper. The parts should all print out on standard letter sized paper. Korobeiniki, is a nineteenth-century Russian folk song, based
on a poem by Nikolay Nekrasov, written and printed in the
Sovremennik magazine in 1861. In western culture, the song
is primarily known for being used as the “Type A” music in
the 1989 Game Boy version of the puzzle game Tetris.
The Korobeiniki were peddlers, with trays, selling fabric,
books and other small things in pre-revolutionary
Russia.Nekrasov’s poem is a sad story about the love between
a peasant girl, and a young peddler.

Korobeiniki, the Russian folk song, was used as the main theme music for the Tetris video game. This arrangement for concert band is perfect for a video game themed concert. It begins at a slower tempo, but quickly picks up the pace before ending with a fun swing jazz rendition of the theme. A baritone treble clef part is included. NOTE: The score is in 8.5in x 14in LEGAL format and must be printed out on that type of paper. The parts should all print out on standard letter sized paper. Search in my other music!)
