“Hakuna Matata” is a song from the 1994 popular Disney’s animated movie “The Lion King”. The catchy tune is sung by the film’s characters Timon and Pumbaa and is based on the phrase “Hakuna Matata” that comes from Swahili language and means ‘no worries’. It is believed that the team learnt it during their safari in Kenya. The music to this simple yet catchy 4/4 time piece was composed by Elton John and the lyrics were written by Tim Rice. “Hakuna Matata” got a big spread in the popular culture and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song in 1995.

I had no idea it was composed by Sir Elton John. What a surprise! My daughter loves playing it on piano and humming Hakuna Matata along :) This wonderful animated film has remained in her list of childhood favourites forever, it seems) So no wonder it's among the first compositions she wants to play so bad now:)
