For 2 trumpets, horn in F, trombone and tuba.
There is no score. Players do not attempt to play in time with each other, but aim to assemble together on the final paused note - repeating freely until everyone is playing it. Players may choose to not play every note in order that energetic playing is maintained. Players may be spaced equally around the performing area. Duration should be no more than 2 minutes.
Programme note: This fanfare requires tremendous musical effort and strength from the players, rather like a herculean task.
