“Gangnam Style” is a single by the popular musician from South Korea – Psy. It was released in 2012 as part of Psy’s 6th album “Psy 6 (Six Rules), Part 1”. This K-pop composition beat many records. It got into Guinness World Records as YouTube’s most ‘liked’ video, became MTV’s Best Video and brought Psy a 4th Class Order of Cultural Merit. In a few months “Gangnam Style” was topping the music charts in 30 countries, it became the source of numerous parodies, and Psy’s famous dance moves from the video were tried on by a number of political leaders including the American president, the British Prime Minister and the UN Secretary-General. “Gangnam Style” has become the symbol of the “Korean Wave”, a cultural phenomenon that rapidly spread around the world.

In fact, Gangnam Style, though initially caused some of my skepticism, did eventually awake my interest in the South Korean culture. It is in fact quite interesting composition, music-wise

Probably because of its comedic video. And the song itself is so funny and cautchy. Just don't be so serious, it is possible to enjoy simple things.
