The title BLUEBIRD ANIMATO stems from the commissioner of the work currently residing in the state of Missouri and the bluebird is the state bird. In regards to “Animato”, this single movement work displays a light, playful, energetic, dance-like and animated character, featuring rhythms and harmonic progressions borrowed from American popular music and jazz. The piece is monothematic with a ternary design.
