Such upbeat tracks as Jason Derulo's are normaly hard to follow as they require more focus and concentration. I purchased this score hoping that there are arrangements that take some degree of tension off the amateur players when they are just starting to shift to intermediate level. It indeed is important to take it slowly, pace by pace. My students love modern music so I had to find a smoother way of presenting them the songs they love for learning. It's great when a student can learn to play a favourite composition without losing that bit of self-esteem for not being able to handle the complexity of a piece.
