This is a newly written Hymn for mixed voices (with optional keyboard accompaniment) for Easter-time or Ascension. The text is on 18th century poetry by Charles Wesley. The harmonies are more modern than the ordinary hymn from hymnals, but the general feeling is of early English - Irish rhythmic feeling and modal treatment. The melodic lines themselves are very easy, almost all step-wise motion. Four stanzas are set, but the piece can be shortened by singing any amount of verses desired.
