The piece is based on the theme of a Ukrainian ritual song, which is however interpreted and developed quite freely.
The music is to some extent simple and easy to understand, but sudden changes of harmonies and mood, supported by various sound effects (flageolets, slides, strokes, etc.), make the piece very interesting, both for those who prefer more conservative music language and for those who is fond of contemporary academic style.
The PDF Sheet Music of the composition contains 13 pages (main score 4 pages, parts – 6 pages, cover and the title page). Fingering and explanations are indicated where appropriate.
