Although it is my goal to compose and arrange a variety of music styles, I find the folk genre particularly enchanting. Country Waltz to Quilt By evokes, at least to me, a snowy winter evening in front of the fireplace, doing crafty things, like quilting. Although the audio file is at a pretty loud volume, which I do on purpose to accommodate a large variety of sound drivers and speakers and such, it should be played softly and reflectively. It's a dance, a slow dance. Take a listen. I have a cello choir next week, we are going to play this puppy. Maybe a few times.
A word about difficulty. This can be played by a cellists of widely varying skills. Cello 4 is pretty much long notes, Celli 2 and 3 have quarter notes, an occasional eighth note or two. The highest is 4th position. The first cello part is most challenging, reaching into thumb position.
