Duopsody, conceived in 2011, was premiered on April 11, 2015 at Mississippi University for Women by the Red and Black Tuba/Euphonium Duo, Cody Ford, euphonium and Keith Sanders, tuba. Duopsody is a 5 minute composition in A minor and quadruple meter. The melodies all feature highly syncopated rhythms, based on and inspired by jazz and rhythm and blues music and both euphonium and tuba parts have ranges of a P19 (2 octaves and a P5). Duopsody has a ternary design with solo cadenzas in both instruments to close the B section and transition to the A return section.
