“Three Little Birds” is a song by the legendary Reggae artist Bob Marley and his band “Bob Marley and the Wailers”. It was written in 1977 for the band’s 9th music album “Exodus” and also released as a single in 1980. Today, it is considered to be one of Marley’s most popular compositions and people instantly recognize it by the memorable lyrics ‘every little thing’s gonna be alright’. The origins of the song is still being argued about. Some believe that Marley got inspired by the little canaries that often flew by his window, others say it was the three singers from “I Trees” female band that Marley used to admire and call ‘my three little birds’. No matter what made the artist create the song, it managed to enter UK’s Top 20 and become extremely popular for covers. Among others, “Three Little Birds” was covered by such artists as Robbie Williams, Sean Paul, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and many others. It as well sounds in numerous TV works, films, sport hymns and commercials. Other well-known singles by Bob Marley and the Wailers include “Redemption Song”, “Get Up, Stand Up”, “I Shot the Sheriff”, “No Woman, No Cry”, “Is This Love” and more.

This score is a lot of use for the classroom studies! Kids love it and already requested a couple of times. The good this is that the key range can be changed according to the class needs, and the pitch suits most singers making it a wonderful composition to perform instruments+voice. I think it's one of the best pieces to teach in Sunday schools for example. The most organic sound to me is reached when played on the ukulele, as if Bob Marley created it specially for it.
