„Dancing In The Street“ ist ein von Marvin Gaye, William "Mickey" Stevenson und Ivy Jo Hunter geschriebener Song, der erstmals von einer US-amerikanischen Gesangsgruppe Martha & the Vandellas aufgenommen wurde. Die Single erschien im Juli 1964 und erreichte Platz 2 der Billboard Hot 100 und Platz 4 der britischen Single-Charts. Weitere Song-Versionen wurden später von verschiedensten Interpreten aufgenommen, das bekannteste und kommerziell erfolgreichste Cover stammt von David Bowie und Mick Jagger. Es wurde im August 1985 veröffentlicht und toppte die britischen, australischen und irischen Single-Charts. Der Song belegte Nummer 6 in Deutschland und Nummer 9 in der Schweiz. Das Musikvideo wurde unter der Regie von David Mallet in den Docklands-Studios gedreht.

Okay. How do I find which of these is the original sheet music by Martha & The Vandellas?

Putting it absolutely honest, I like the original hit by Martha and the Vandellas way more than the version by these two, although legendary, men. I think that some composition should better be played the way they had been originally created as none of the covers is actually able to make it sound better. Dancing in the Street is one of those songs to me. No complaints as far as this sheet music goes, though. It's nicely made and is worth every penny. But to me, playing this score was more of an experiment once again proving that the original rocks.
