This is a transcription of an Early Italian Renaissance 3 part motet "O Lord, Father and God of my life, do not forsake me. . " by the Florentine composer Francesco de Layolle (1492-1540). This can be easily performed Soprano and Alto voice, or played on three instruments. The text is based on a Medieval Antiphonal Chant. We are also putting up a version for TTB voices. The key used is Dorian (first mode: G scale with B flat), transposed here to the E scale with 2 sharps. The music can be incorporated in a church service or sung on a concert program. It can be performed by SSA choir or 3 soloists a cappella, with doubling of instruments (flute, oboe, violin etc). A keyboard accompaniment is provided for rehearsals.
