This is an anonymous 16th century Italian Madrigal for three voices: soprano - tenor - baritone. The original pubblication is kept in the Conservatory of Music Library, Luigi Cherubini, Florence Italy. I am publishing it here because it is very nice and simple, and people cannot easily have access to the Library, it's a shame not to sing such lovely music. A keyboard accompaniment is included to facilitate rehearsal.
The text is about a lover who has lost his woman's love: "My lady, if once I was worthy of your love, Why do you now disdain me? It is not my faulti but it is fierce destiny And a cruel fortune That have made me the most wretched Of persons ever born under the moon."
