This is a new setting for 3 equal a cappella voices of the well-known tune for Easter week. The Alto part can also be substituted or doubled by men's voices. The keyboard accompaniment is included for rehearsal, but can be used during performance. The text includes five verses that start like this:
"Ah, holy Jesus, how hast thou offended?
That man to judge thee hath in hate pretended.
By foes derided, by thine own rejected,
