"Great is our Lord's Name" is a short contemporary motet on a 16th c. Latin text for Christmas time first published in the Piae Canciones, 1582. This is in contemporary style for three equal (SSA) or mixed (SAT) voices reminiscent of medieval music. Both versions are contained in the pdf to download. The vocal parts can be doubled by instruments. Settings for SAB and SATB voices are also available, these scores are slightly different and are therefore uploaded separately. It can be performed by either a choral ensemble or solo voices.

The pdf contains 2 pages of music and the lyrics:

Magnum nomen Domini
Emmanuel!
Quod annuntiatum est
Per Gabriel:
Hodie apparuit
In Israel,
Per Mariam Virginem
In Bethlehem.
Eia! Eia!
Virgo Deum genuit
Sic divina voluit
Clementia.
Gaudete, gaudete,
Ex Maria Virgine.

Great is the name of the Lord
Emmanuel!
The event was announced
by Gabriel:
Today he has appeared
in Israel,
Thanks to the Virgin Mary
in Bethlehem.
Come, quickly!
A Virgin has given birth
as God has ordained by his
Clemency (Mercy).
Rejoice, rejoice,
in the Virgin Mary.
