"Steinway Ballad I" was composed in 2006 as a result of the composer's fascination by the sound of a Steinway Grand piano. With its massive chords, this composition in B major stresses rather the lower half of the keyboard, yet it builds up a very melancholic and melodic theme.
This piece was originally released within the composer's album "Sujets 2007".

Technically, this composition can be mastered by the "crossing-hands-technique", where the left hand crosses over the right hand in some passages.
