Both the Tientos for guitar were inspired by and intended for Hans Bakker’s then colleague, the famous Irish guitarist Darragh O'Neill. But shortly after Tiento II was completed - the work was dedicated to him, and the first completed of the two Tientos - Darragh returned to his country. Afterwards Tatakh Huismans premiered Tiento II in concert in 2009. And in 2017 guitarist Ruud Harte premiered Tiento I also in concert in The Hague (Netherlands).
