"Scenes from Ancient Greece", for piano solo (2010)
I.Invocation (1st Delphic Hymn to Apollo)
II.Ritual (from "Orestes" Stasimon by Euripides)
III.Dance (Pirryhios) Toccata
An Invocation, a Ritual, a Dance. Three acts of calling upon God, three different aspects of refering to Him. One of call, one of prayer, one of bacchanale ecstasy. Each one is based on a melody fragment from Ancient Greek Melos depicting three scenes from Ancient Greece.
Performed in "Faculty Recital" at "Philips Autograph Library" of West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2010 by Konstantinos Papadakis to whom is dedicated.
