This march was written for a school standard brass band, in fact, specifically for my school band in Wigan. It follows the standard march structure and is in an easy key. The first section is a jolly, bouncy tune and needs to played with panache. The bass solo is well within the capabilities of most bass sections. The trio section is quite a contrast, with a legato melody in the solo baritone part, which is joined by the cornets, euph and flugel on the repeat. I had a good baritone player who deserved the chance to shine.
I have added parts for American instruments (F horns, baritones, trombones, euphoniiums and basses in Bass clef).
