The three-part work is dedicated to flautist Francien Post and cellist Sander Westphal.
The virtuoso and swinging Prelude and Fugue obviously refer to the great Bach, but have their own unmistakable eloquence. The different themes of the Intermezzo, which are also used counterpoint, give the piece a great lyric and emotional charge.

The three-part work is an adapted version of Prelude, Inter-mezzo and Fugue for fl & vlc , that was premiered on 13th of October at the Amersfoort Bachdag by Francien Post and Sander Westphal. The virtuoso and swinging Prelude and Fugue obviously refer to the great Bach, but have their own unmistakable eloquence. The different themes of the Intermezzo, which are also used counterpoint, give the piece a great lyric and emotional charge. And the Fugue must have a nice swing.

Saturday the 13th of October there will be the Amersfoort Bachdag for the third time. The whole city with all its beautiful halls, churches and chapels is bustling with Bach. Sander Westphal plays parts from the third cello suite, and Francien Post plays the solo sonata in a minor by C Ph E Bach. They also play the premiere of Prelude, Intermezzo & Fuga - with a wink to Bach - a work dedicated to them by the composer Hans Bakker. They can be heard at 16.00 and 17.00 in the oldest monument in Amersfoort, the Mannenzaal, Westsingel 47. Almost all concerts are free to listen to, with the possibility of a voluntary contribution.
