In the past month of January I wrote Visions of Peace No. 3 - Praying for peace, for organ. It is in fact my 'Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris' (Give peace in our time, O Lord).
I used neither the melody of the hymn, which has been set to music by many composers, nor that of the introit, but a theme of my own. - Nos. 1 and 2 were for organ and lame sonore or violin. There is also a version for piano à q.m. of Nos. 1 and 2.
The work is dedicated to Rien Donkersloot, organist of the Sint-Joriskerk in Amersfoort.
Note. The audio is the result of the notation program.
I offered the piece on the memorial day, February 24, in the year that I turn 80.
