I composed my horn quartet partly in 2000 and partly in 2008. The Movement titles are: 1st Movement: Andante (2000) 2nd Movement: Allegro vigoroso (2000/2008) 3rd Movement: Andante (2008) 4th Movement: Moderato assai “Trara, das tönt wie Jagdgesang” (2000/2008)
The work, which is quite dissonant in parts, expresses different moods musically and offers a rich palette of expression, ranging from the mysterious to hard rhythms and from the impasto to the rather disturbing call to hunt. The piece is by no means suitable for colorful evenings, but exclusively for a concentrated concert setting.
