“When I Was A Freeport And You Were The Main Drag” is a song by American singer and songwriter Laura Nyro. It is part of her 4th album “Christmas and the Beads of Sweat” that was released in 1970 and became the third in her famous ‘trilogy’. The song is a confessional remembrance of a lost love and is very emotional lyrics- and music- wise. It became another proof of Laura’s reputation as an acknowledged songwriter.

besonders mag ich ihre Live-Ausführungen von diesem Lied, Laura hat eine wirklich wunderbare tiefe Stimme, ihre Live-Konzerte sind etwas fantastisches!
