“Any Time” is a popular country style song composed by Herbert Happy Lawson and published in 1921. It is most known for its 1924 recording by the American artist Emmet Miller known for his yodel-like falsetto that influenced numerous country singers like Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Jimmie Rodgers, Milton Brown and others. A year later, in 1925, Lawson recorded his own version of “Any Time” where he performed it on the ukulele. The song got a number of covers and some of them charted really well. For example, interpretations by Eddy Arnold, Foy Willing and His Riders of the Purple Sage, Eddie Fisher and The Osmond Brothers got on the Top 100 of country music charts across the U.S. Little known and remembered today, Herbert Lawson left an important imprint in the history of the country genre.
