A percussion quartet based off a duration series. I took a number, 12, and split it in to parts: 5, 2, 1, 4. These are played in order, and once this sequence has started, it must be finished. It can be played backwards, as well as through several other transformations; but anytime a sequence starts, it must be finished. There are times where sequences overlap, creating more complex rhythms, however, the discerning ear can pick out each line, even as it transfers between players.
