“Shine” is one of the popular synthpop songs by British electronica group Years & Years, along with such hits as “King” and “Eyes Shut”. It was released as a single from their first 2015 album “Communion”. Just like the “King” song, “Shine” was also well-received by the public, the charts and the critics. It reached the second position in the Singles Chart of the UK and was positively reviewed by magazines as PopJustice and Sugarscape. The song was inspired by and written for Olly Alexander’s new boyfriend and differs in styles compared to the group’s previous singles. Lyrically, “Shine” is centered around the metaphor of light as expressing the falling-in-love feeling.

That's the second piece by Years & Years that I've mastered on piano by now, quite successfully must I boast. The previous - King - I got from musicnotes and decided I'd print Shine from somewhere else for comparison. I'm glad I did as -imho- the score (or at least the version offered here) seems to be more corresponding to the recording (to my ear), and it goes down lovely and seamlessly if you are planning to perform a piano-guitar duo. Not mentioning even the pricing, a few bucks count!
