This exercise for the mandolin is played without open strings, it can be moved to other positions on the fretboard. It can be played on the lower three strings or on the higher three strings. It can be played with the first three fingers, or - to strngthen the 4th finger - with fingers 2, 3 and 4.
A great little exercise!
