Enrique Gonzalez-Medina, originally from Tijuana, Mexico, studied composition at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He then decided to pursue his further academic training in the United States, moved to New York and Los Angeles and took his degrees at the Mannes College of Music N.Y. (B.M.) and the California State University Los Angeles (M.M.). Since 1997, he is a faculty member of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.

His works reflect his musical and biographical background beautifully, including for example a songbook collection of 25 settings of poems by various poets from his home state of Baja California, a commission for the Cincinnati Opera "How Nanita Learned to Make Flan", with more than 250 performances across the United States since its premiere in 2003.

Gonzalez-Medina’s personal site at MusicaNeo is continually growing. Listen to his enticing audio samples!
