Yvette M. Devereaux is a professional composer, violinist, conductor and arranger from Los Angeles, USA. Having completed the Bachelor Degree at Chapman University, she got her Master in Music at Peabody Music Conservatory and later a Doctor of Philosophy at Felton University. Yvette is an accomplished musician in many spheres. As a conductor, she competed in a number of international contests, conducted the Chapman University Chamber Orchestra on tour and was the 1st African American woman to conduct the LA Philarmonic Orchestra. As a violinist, she performed/recorded with numerous prominent pop and jazz artists including Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Alicia Keys, performed with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Justin Timberlake, John Legend and many others. Yvette is an active music educator for many US schools and institutions. She is the founder of The Progressive Symphony and is currently dedicating a big part of her life to providing appropriate orchestral string arrangements for students of all levels.
