Eugen Doga is a Moldovan and Russian composer, author of numerous works – ballets, quartets, operas, music for plays and over 200 films; he is a multi-award-winning academician of 8 Academies, a People's Artist of the USSR and a Recipient of the USSR State Prize. Eugen Doga graduated from Chisinau College of Music and Chisinau Conservatory majoring in cello, but a sudden hand paralysis made him switch to composing. Some of composer’s renowned works include the “Waltz” recognized by UNESCO as one of the music masterpieces of the 20th century, “My White City” that became the official anthem of Moldova’s capital, as well as music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1980 Olympics.
