“My Mind's Eye” is a popular song by the ever-more popular rock band from England – The Small Faces. It was written by two of the group’s members, Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane. The group originally planned to release the song as part of the album, but their music agent Don Arden decided otherwise. Being too eager to share it asap he did it without the group’s consent releasing “My Mind's Eye” as a single in 1966, which put an end to their business relations. However, even the raw version that Arden possessed turned out to be very successful and reached the fourth position on the Singles Chart in the UK. According to one of the song’s authors, the inspiration for writing this work lay in the famous Christmas composition “Gloria in Excelsis Deo”.

I'm glad the song was opened to the public just like it was, raw and beautiful. There is some special attractiveness in its unpolished lyrics and melody that we are still all eager to enjoy up to day
