“Use Somebody” is an alternative rock song by the popular rock band from the US known as “Kings of Leon”. The song was written by the 4 members of the band, the brothers Followill. It was released in 2008 as the 4th track on the band’s 4th album titled “Only by the Night”. It was also released as a single (Kings of Leon’s 2nd single after “Sex on Fire”). The single “Use Somebody” performed very well in a dozen of countries. It became the band’s breakthrough hit in America, getting on top of Pop Songs and to the 4th position of the famous Hot 100. The power ballad received a few Grammies, including Best Rock Song (2010). It almost became the 2010 Song of the Year, losing the title to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. The song was covered by Pixie Lott, Laura Jensen, Ultrabeat and others.

My daughter introduced me to Kings of Leon, and not vice versa, can you believe it?) And I'm glad I did get to know their music closer via playing it on guitar. As far as I understood Use Somebody along with Sex on Fire are actually the highlight of the band's style, so by learning to play these two on guitar I aspire to capture the basics of their guitar style. It's been only the second day since I got this sheet music , transposed and printed, but I hope it will be no huge challenge for the old buddy like me to nail it.)
