The inspiration for this arrangement was from Tchaikovsky’s The New Doll. I enriched the chords to make the arrangement more interesting Play the beat one chord slightly louder than the beat two chord consistently through the piece to create the gentle rhythmic feel for this arrangement.

This is an arrangement for full brass band. It has a number of features and passes the melody and countermelodies around the band.

A strage thing happened when I was writing it in that a chorale melody imposed itself on the tune (at letter E) quite out of the blue. This is similar to "Nun Danket", but there are differences. I felt compelled to keep it harmonised in a chorale style. It appears again at the end as the carol fades in to the distance.
