Included is Reverie for solo piano
and Reverie and Rondo for clarinet and piano or woodwind quintet
Reverie is a free-form fantasy in the Phrygian mode. It is peaceful and meditative, with some jazzy harmonies. Written in 1977, eleven years before Rondo.
Rondo began as a ten-bar canon for piano in the style of Hindemith. Later I expanded it into a rondo form as a duet for clarinet and piano and as a companion piece for the duet version of Reverie. It is lively, with an angular melody. One slow section, using the inversion of the theme, is more lyrical.
For pianists who prefer it, I have included a score in concert pitch.
Reverie is also available as a piano solo.
Both will be available soon arranged for woodwind quintet.
