This is an arrangement for SATB quartet or choir for use as an Introit for worship services. The arrangement is kept simple so the focus is on the lyrics. It will be very effective if the singers stand at the four corners of the congregation and immerse them in "surround sound."
Scripture Reference: John 1:1-14; Rev. 22:13 Themes: The Grace of Jesus Christ, In Praise of Christ, Seasons/Sundays: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter Scores Included in pdf file: SATB quartet/choir and piano octavo.

This is a famous hymn found in many hymnals, the pdf included here for download presents two versions in English: SAB voices and SA (or SB) voices, choir or soloists. I have included the English text for four verses. It was originally an 11th century chant (a Trope: an embellishment of certain parts of early liturgy that was sung). It is ideal for Christmas or Epiphany periods as church music, but can also be included in general repertory for special concerts. The original Latin lyrics were written by Aurelius C. Prudentius, 348-413.
1. Of the Father's love begotten Ere the worlds began to be, He is Alpha and Omega, He the Source, the Ending He, Of the things that are, that have been, And that future years shall see Evermore and evermore. etc.

I'm already pretty good in piano but one day I would so love to try this lovely carol on organ!
